However, it is in perfect working condition and is still covered under the full manufacturer warranty. Demo bikeSigns of wear and useScratched crankset Ibis is known in the cycling industry for the expert craftsmanship and high-grade materials that go into the manufacturing of their bicycles. To understand how it all started, take a trip back in time to 1980. Ibis founder, Scot Nicol read an article about the new ""Klunker Bike"" movement in the Spring issue of CoEvolution Quarterly-a friendly hippy magazine. The seed was planted. In 1981, in a workshop in Mendocino, California, the first Ibis bicycle was made. Glassy eyed onlookers saw the bicycle and asked Scot if he could produce more. Fast forward 30 years to present-day Ibis: a renowned boutique bicycle manufacturer with humble beginnings that continues to raise the bar in the mountain bike world. The Ibis Ripley 29 has been a long time coming. After about a half decade of R&D, Ibis has proudly released the Ripley 29er. Ibis' goal was to create a nimble, responsive, and light 29er. Take note that these adjectives are not generally associated with 29er, thus the multiple years of R&D. The Ripley 29 is a true trail bike, one that allows you to throw on a helmet and explore the ends of the earth. Once you throw your leg over the Ibis Ripley 29, you'll experience a new kind of cycling. A 29er rolls over obstacles easier, due to the lower approach angle. Carry on a conversation as you and your buddies climb Mount Kilimanjaro, the Ripley 29 climbs like a young mountain goat! You'll surely crack a smile as the wind rustles through your helmet, while you enjoy the local singletrack trails. The 67.5 degree head angle allows you to securely point the bike back down the mountain, and put those on a 26"" wheeled bike to shame. Ibis introduced a new version of the Ripley frame that features a longer and slacker geometry option. Ibis Cycles researched what people liked in a 29er geometry, and they found mountain bikers yearned for the steering of a 26"" bike, but with the advantages of the bigger wheels. The 67.5 degree head angle (with a 130mm travel fork) provides downhill confidence, while the 51mm fork offset gives the responsiveness that riders love. Constructed of high quality carbon fiber, the frame is incredibly lightweight. Not only is the carbon fiber frame lightweight, but it absorbs trail shock, as well. Not to mention, the lack of weld lines looks sleek. The heart of the Ibis Ripley 29 is the eccentric DW-Link Suspension. With 120mm of DW-Link travel gobbles up debris on the trail, while preserving the pedaling efficiency. DW- Link suspension features excellent small bump compliance, predictable travel through the range with no walling or harsh bottoming out. The Ripley XT build features a Fox Float DPS shock in the rear, and a Fox Float 34 130mm travel fork up front to handle bumps and sudden drops. To ensure superior maneuverability, the Ripley 29 has a tapered head tube. The Ripley adopts a new cable routing system that runs internally routed droppers, mechanical or hydraulic. The Ripley 29 is definitely a bike you'd take home to meet your mother. The Ibis Ripley XT 1x is all about simple efficiency. The rock solid XT 1x11 drivetrain saves weight and simplifies the drivetrain while maintaining a wide mountain bike gearing range. XT is technically a step down from Shimano's XTR group, but features many of the same benefits with only a small weight penalty and a few cost-conscious material choices. A Race Face Turbine Cinch crank delivers plenty of pedaling power and Shimano XT brakes give you all the braking power need to stop on a dime or modulate technical sections of the trail. Stan's ZTR Arch wheels provide a solid and fast spinning wheel platform and Ibis tops off the Ripley XT 1x build with a classy Ibis branded cockpit. Bicycling Magazine 2015 Mountain Bike Editors' Choice Award ""I thought I was on a 27.5-wheeled bike, in both looks and feel. Ibis Mojo 3 X01 Eagle Bike
Description: $ (' (id=prSize selector) ') .find ('div:first-child') .append (' View Geometry Chart ') ;$ (function () ( $ ('.size-chart') .fancybox ( ( type: 'ajax', width: 550, height: 400, helpers: ( overlay: ( locked: false ) ) ) ) ; ) ) ; NOTE: Photos are for illustration purposes only. Actual build specs for this bike can be found below. Ibis has recently welcomed a new member into it's Mojo family. This bad boy has grabbed all the choice genetics from its older sibling, the HD3 while, at the same time, evolved into something more well-rounded, versatile and suited for a wider range of riding styles. We invite you to spark up that cigar and welcome into the cycling world, the Ibis Mojo 3. The evolution and magic in the Ibis Mojo 3 is that it can accommodate 27.5 inch or 27.5 plus tires. The boost frame, boost fork and wide rimmed wheelset are suited for which ever tire platform you feel is best suited to your individual riding style and terrain conditions. It will climb more gracefully than the HD3 and still keep up on the descents. Have that enduro race coming up next weekend and want to be light and fast? Run 2.3 inch rubber. Planned an all-day multi-condition outing with the crew and need more volume, traction and an injection of fun? Throw on the 2.8 inch treads. In either set-up you can count on legendary Ibis handling characteristics as they carried over their long, low, slack geometry and DW link. But, now we can add to that list wider boost axle's front and rear. These allowed the chainstays to remain nice and short while making clearance for the wider tires. All at a negligible weight difference. The Ibis Mojo 3 fits in nicely as a versatile trail dirt guzzler to the already legendary all-star cast that is Ibis bikes. REVIEWS Bike ""I've ridden several bikes with plus-size tires, and the Mojo 3 is without a doubt the most 'normal' feeling."" The Journal ""Whatever your current skill level is, a plus bike will raise your game by a letter grade."" Pinkbike ""Siiiiiiiick!"" Adventure Journal ""It's like a switchblade covered in Velcro. Razor-sharp handling meets ridiculous levels of traction and control. It's dumbfounding, actually."" Features 27.5 or 27.5 Plus capable frame, fork and wheelset let you decide which way to roll. Fox Factory Float 34 140mm fork along with a tapered steer tube provides a stiff front end with increased handling characteristics.
